£2.5m investment planned by British Land and Aviva Investors.
SouthGate Bath’s public spaces will be transform and the overall visitor experience enhanced by a new project due to begin in February 2019.
The mall will gain new green spaces and seating, including a ‘pocket park’ on St Lawrence Street with lawns, timber seating and apple trees. And a new piece of public art designed by Bath-based Macgregor Smith Architects and the Holburne Museum will be installed in SouthGate Place.
Centre manager Guy Henderson said: “We’re looking to create a relaxing, feel-good space in the heart of the city and have worked with the local community to bring this concept to life. The improvement works represent a big investment for us, with the aim of making SouthGate an even better place to shop, eat and spend time at.”
