Cain International, the privately held investment firm, has let 7,800sq ft in its Islington Square development to leisure brand Energize Games in a deal that strengthens the mixed-use destination’s all-day playing, shopping and dining appeal. This latest letting means Islington Square’s retail and hospitality space is now 93% let.
Following the success of its Breaking Escape Rooms brand, Energize Games is set to launch a new immersive gaming concept that brings live gaming, entertainment and fitness together. The new concept at Islington Square will see teams of players compete in a technologically state-of-the-art room in challenges that test them both physically and mentally through activities such as jumping, ducking, throwing and moving quickly, finding patterns and working together.
Energize Games expects to open its debut arcade in Islington Square early this year.
Orme Property acted on behalf of Cain International.
Neil Barber, retail leasing director at Cain International, said: “The addition of yet another innovative leisure brand such as Energize Games will complement our offer to provide special experiences for our guests at Islington Square. Our growing collection of established independent names operating in leisure, retail and F&B proves the strength of Islington Square as a preferred location for leading brands to connect with their target audience.”
Stefan Vargolici, founder and CEO at Energize Games said: “Kickstarting 2023 with this unique concept, we knew we had to find a location with an innovative spirit that would appeal to people hungry for new experiences, and Islington Square checked all the boxes in providing exactly that. Following the success of our Breaking Escape Rooms experience, we are confident that the launch of this new concept driven by consumer demand for experiences that emphasise mental and physical wellbeing will be equally enjoyed by our fans, as well as a new generation thanks to Islington Square’s compelling customer base.”
