GCW, the London-based retail property consultancy, has launched its first sustainability action plan aimed at putting sustainability at the forefront of its business and that of its clients and stakeholders, establishing itself as a key industry influencer.
The plan lays out key targets to achieve in reducing GCW’s environmental impact, refining its purpose and culture, alongside working to improve inclusivity and diversity within its business and the wider sector. The plan incorporates the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as part of a wider ESG focus.
The move intends to ensure GCW’s culture and ethos are aligned with those of its partners as it strives to continue supporting sustainable communities and champion economic and environmental revitalisation.
Laying out its Roadmap to Sustainability and working with key stakeholder groups, the company pledges it will undertake yearly regular reviews of its principles.
Oli Horton, GCW partner, who is supporting the action plan said: “Sustainability is an issue that should be on everyone’s radar across the property industry.
“We have looked forensically at our business to understand our current position. We know we can do better, and we are committed to being better. We want to lead the debate, influence our stakeholders, and champion sustainability principles today to secure a better future for all.”
Spearheading the implementation of the plan is GCW director, Philippe Micheal, who said GCW’s role will be that of an influencer. “Many of our clients are embracing the green agenda and we hope that our action plan will not only align with their thinking but encourage others in the industry to get on board.”
