Danish confectionery brand Lakrids by Bülow has opened at Westfield London. The new opening comes as part of the brand’s continued retail expansion into the UK market, marking its third permanent store opening here.
The new opening follows recent launches in London’s Covent Garden and Canary Wharf last autumn, alongside a new nationwide listing in John Lewis.
CEO of Lakrids by Bülow, Fredrik Nilsson said: “Since landing on UK shores in 2021, we have witnessed rising demand from Brits for our gourmet chocolate coated liquorice range. We are thrilled to be continuing our mission to make the world love liquorice with our new Westfield London store, expanding our retail offering further in the UK market, currently our fastest growing market for brand awareness and sales, witnessing a triple digit increase in sales the first three months of 2024.”
Liquorice is a polarising flavour, and as with all Lakrids by Bülow stores, tastings of its gourmet chocolate coated liquorice will be offered in an attempt to convert any liquorice sceptics.
Recently achieving its certification as B Corp, Lakrids by Bülow has sustainability front of mind at each stage of production, promoting circularity across all its packaging. Not only is it the first confectionery producer in the world to make jars from 100% recycled and recyclable plastic, production at the brand’s factory in Copenhagen is fuelled by 100% green energy.
The new Lakrids by Bülow store is located on the ground floor at kiosk K1211 along the walkway to John Lewis in Westfield.
