Victoria Leeds, owned and operated by Redical, has announced that luxury women’s fashion brand, Hobbs, is significantly upsizing at the destination, relocating from Victoria Quarter to a 30% larger unit at Victoria Gate. Reflecting Hobbs’ stella performance at the destination, the new flagship store reaffirms TFG London’s continual commitment to Victoria Leeds, as it consolidates its brands under one roof, moving Hobbs alongside its Phase Eight and Whistles stores.
Due to open in November, the new 4,200sq ft flagship store will allow Hobbs to showcase a wider selection of its signature women’s clothing, shoes, accessories and elegant occasion wear, in response to greater customer demand enjoyed at the destination. Hobbs’ strategic relocation within Victoria Leeds (moving from Victoria Quarter to Victoria Gate), will enable the brand to sit alongside fellow TFG London brands, Phase Eight and Whistles, and complement the cluster of leading British brands established at the destination, including The White Company, Mint Velvet, NEOM Wellbeing and Pour Moi.
Hobbs’ relocation and significant upsize to Victoria Gate, coincides with the destination experiencing record-breaking footfall figures, welcoming a significant increase in visitor numbers to Victoria Gate during the first half of 2024 compared to 2023. On track for its most successful year in history, Victoria Gate’s success can be attributed to the proactive management under new owners Redical, while immersive placemaking initiatives across the scheme, such as the recent Fashion Week and sold-out catwalk event, have encouraged the steady flow of visitors and heightened customer engagement.
Rachel Bradburn, leasing director at Victoria Leeds, commented: “This latest announcement further cements Victoria Leeds’ position as one of the UK’s most trusted premium and luxury retail destination. We are welcoming more visitors than ever before to Victoria Gate, which is a testament to high calibre brands reinvesting and recommitting with us, like those in the TFG London portfolio, but also to Redical’s ongoing commitment to provide an exceptional curated retail mix and customer experience.”
Caroline Money, global group director at TFG Brands, commented: “The decision to relocate to a larger unit at Victoria Leeds is a clear reflection of the increased demand in a key catchment area for us, and brings three of our brands – Hobbs, Phase Eight and Whistles – together under the one roof of Victoria Gate. We are excited for our loyal customers to now enjoy an elevated experience, with a wider selection of Hobbs’ timeless pieces.”
This news follows the recent openings of British heritage and lifestyle brand, Barbour, and iconic New York-founded perfumery Le Labo. Both located in the historic district of Victoria Quarter, Barbour unveiled a duo of firsts as it opened the city’s first standalone store and debuted its new ‘heritage’ design concept, whilst Le Labo’s store marked a regional debut.
Lunson Mitchenall and Central Retail acted for Victoria Leeds, while Braiser Freeth represented Hobbs.
