Superfans of Canadian restaurant, Tim Hortons, queued for 36 hours in a bid to be crowned first-ever guest at the company’s new location in Park Royal London. The queue started forming at 10pm last Wednesday, ready for the opening on Friday morning.
Upon opening, two guests claimed free drinks, every day for a whole year while
one lucky guest was set to win a free trip to Canada.
Famed for its coffee and freshly baked donuts the new Tim Hortons is open from 6am to midnight, seven days a week. It has a relaxed seating area for those wanting to dine-in as well as a drive-thru lane for those on the go. Delivery options will be available by the end of the month.
Kevin Hydes, chief commercial officer of Tim Hortons franchise in the U.K, said: “After years of requests, the time has finally come, and we are officially open in London. We’ve had fans travelling from all over the UK to be here to celebrate the launch.
“We are lucky to have a large cult following and
are no strangers to early arrivals at our restaurant launches, but our winners
today will go down in history as our longest queuing fans, smashing the current
record holders at our Leicester opening, where a guest queued for 20 hours in
November 2019. I’m sure people will wonder why you’d queue for that long – we’d
say it’s worth it but don’t take our word for it, come down and see for
yourself as we continue to celebrate our opening all month.”
