Formal planning application paves the way for 15 new stores
Following a community consultation last year, the owner of Springfields Outlet Centre in Spalding, the Triton Property Fund LP managed by UBS Asset Management, has submitted plans for a major expansion.
The plans will see around 15 new stores plus three F&B units being built, along with 236 additional parking spaces and the introduction of more electric vehicle chargers.
The improvements to Springfields are proposed on Camel Gate, on the site of the NFU Mutual building, and the car park next to Travelodge. A decision is expected in the summer.
Ian Sanderson of SLR Outlets, which operates Springfields Outlet, said: “Springfields has gone from strength to strength since opening over 15 years ago and I am proud that we can lead on this significant investment into Spalding.
“New high-quality retail and leisure space at Springfields Outlet will improve our offer to customers, cement our position as the leading shopping and leisure destination in the east of England, and create a large number of new jobs for local people.”
