Global footwear brand to open at Banbridge outlet mall
Skechers is taking a 2,500-sq ft store to join the growing portfolio of new brands at Northern Ireland’s premier outlet mall, including the recently reported Adidas, Asics and Kurt Geiger. The brand signed a retail licensing agreement with footwear retailer Shuz 4 U Group in 2010 to open and operate Skechers-branded retail stores throughout Ireland, with Banbridge set to be the 18th store the company will open.
This deal strengthens the Boulevard’s position as Northern Ireland’s premier outlet shopping centre and, alongside the recently opened Clarks Shoes and Kurt Geiger outlet stores, it gives the Boulevard an exceptional outlet footwear offering.
Chris Nelmes, the Boulevard’s centre manager, said “We are delighted that Skechers has chosen The Boulevard for its latest store opening and it is an exciting addition to the retail mix. Now is a great time to visit The Boulevard with our £7 million rebrand underway and a run of new store openings. We have seen a 25% year on year increase in turnover and we hope this will continue with Skechers attracting new customers.”
