The new all-day undercover dining and events destination has begun trading
Seven Dials Market, which is owned and managed by Shaftsebury, opened to the public on Saturday, September 7.
Created by street food pioneers, KERB, as their first-ever permanent home, the launch of Seven Dials Market follows the transformation of the historic 24,000 sq ft Thomas Neal’s Warehouse in the heart of London’s West End.
The market is a new all-day undercover dining and events destination, featuring 25 independent food businesses all with roots in the city’s streets and markets, alongside a bar and bookshop dedicated to all things food-related.
Julia Wilkinson, group restaurant strategy executive at Shaftesbury, commented: “The opening of Seven Dials Market has brought something very special to Seven Dials. The line-up of operators is interesting, innovative and diverse, and the building itself also plays a key role. The design allows the character of Thomas Neal’s Warehouse to shine through, adding to the atmosphere and experience for visitors. Without doubt, Seven Dials has a new heart, which means the West End does too.”
Petra Barran, founder of KERB, commented: “After seven years of creating and supporting a community of food traders to thrive on the streets of London, we are incredibly excited to be taking the next step for KERB. Seven Dials Market has been a long-standing dream of ours and a complete labour of love for myself and all the team. Our ambition is to build not only a home for excellent, independent food businesses to grow, but a welcoming, open space for everyone to enjoy a big slice of London.”
