Tunbridge Wells shopping centre unveils £11m refurb plans
British Land has unveiled an £11million refurbishment of Royal Victoria Place. Plans include an upgrade to the flooring throughout the centre, new seating, bespoke roof lighting and a new feature artwork. Work is expected to be completed in 2020.
British Land paid Hermes more than £90m for the centre last year, with the benefit of plannig permission for a leisure-led extensiom, which has now reportedly been dropped.
Centre manager Nicky Blanchard said: “We’re so excited to announce the plan for our renovations. We’ve been working hard to produce a design that will help modernise Royal Victoria Place, as well as create a relaxing, feel-good space for our visitors.”
