Kent town to launch Business Improvement District
Businesses in Royal Tunbridge Wells town centre have voted in favour of implementing a Business Improvement District 71% of businesses voting in favour of the BID by number, and 81% by rateable value. Consequently, Over £2.3 million will now be invested in the local area over the next five years through a wide range of initiatives designed to promote and elevate the town.
Town centre manager Karen Pengelly said: “We now have a lot of work to do between now and April 1st next year, when the BID goes live, to ensure that it delivers real, tangible benefits to its members. The area it covers and the business sectors represented are large so a lot of planning needs to be done, however we are confident in achieving a successful outcome.”
