Queensberry in for planning on Block C of Sheffield’s Heart of the City II scheme
Following the completion of Phase One of the Heart of the City project, the works on the new block, known as ‘Pepper Pot’are expected to start in Spring 2019, subject to planning.
Leonard Design’s plans for the Pepper Pot building, fronting on Pinstone Street, include the restoration of the existing Victorian façade while redeveloping and expanding the interior behind. The new scheme will include five retail units on the ground floor with 37,000 sq ft of Grade A office space on the floors above.
Councillor Mazher Iqbal, cabinet member for business and investment at Sheffield City Council, said: “This development continues the momentum which is seeing the heart of the city changing before our eyes with an innovative mix of retail, residential and office uses as well as stunning public realm improvements that will continue to make Sheffield attractive to businesses and investors.”
Jon Munce, development director at Queensberry, added: “The Pepper Pot building is a popular one in the city centre and we are confident we have delivered a sensitive yet modern design solution for the block.”
