Hunter Real Estate Investment Managers adds JD Sports at the Spires, Barnet
The thriving sports and fashion retailer has agreed to join the shopping centre, taking a 4,599-sq ft unit. The latest big-name signing follows significant investment by Hunter REIM, whose £7m refurbishment and extension of the centre included improvements to the public realm, attracting H&M to join names like Waitrose and Waterstones in the Spires.
In recent months, planning permission has been secured for a new Premier Inn on an adjacent site, underlining the appeal of Barnet town centre for investors and new operators looking to take advantage of opportunities within the M25.
Centre manager Kris Weeks said: “We’ve been working hard to make the Spires an even better place for shoppers and retailers. We saw a strong increase in footfall after H&M opened last year, and we expect to see the same again with JD Sports.”
Hunter REIM was represented by KLM Retail.
