Retailer poised to open experiential store in Birmingham
Music and film retailer HMV is poised to open a new flagship experiential store in Birmingham city centre, according to Property Week.
Sunrise Records, the Canadian company that recently acquired HMV after it was in administration in February, has reportedly signed a five-year lease on 40,600 sq ft at the former IKEA order and collection point in Birmingham city centre.
The HMV concept store, which is being dubbed The Vault, will provide customers with the opportunity to see and test HMV’s products in an interactive, experience-led space. The store will apparently have a focus on vinyl and have a space for bands to perform live.
Cushman & Wakefield and Rowley Hughes Thompson advised the landlord.
