Hammerson has reported a ‘significant’ improvement in rent collection for the fourth quarter of the financial year, collecting 70 per cent of rent for the quarter.
The property owner said this was ‘significantly ahead’ of any quarter since Q1 of 2020 – before the pandemic had fully taken hold.
The UK continues to be the company’s strongest performing country, with 74% of rent collected, followed by Ireland at 71%, and France at 65%.
Financial year 2020 collections now stand at 94% and, and at 78% for 2021.
“We remain focused on collecting arrears. We do not anticipate granting future concessions and all avenues to collect rents due are being pursued,” Hammerson said.
