Meadowhall has reported a significant increase in footfall over the summer
British Land has reported that August Bank Holiday footfall at Meadowhall grew by 50 per cent compared to the year before, and footfall after 6pm was up 20 per cent across the whole month of August. The month also saw catering sales grow by 6.7 per cent as visitors made a day of their trip to Meadowhall, shopping, dining and enjoying the experiential activities.
A je driver of growth was Meadowhall’s beach which returned for the school holidays, complete with a double decker bus hosting a range of activities for children and a series of take-over days by the centre’s retailers. The beach was enjoyed by over 100,000 visitors, helping to drive a 3.2 per cent increase in footfall during August.
