Döner Shack, the German street-food brand, opened the doors to its flagship site in Manchester on 22 November for its soft launch, giving 550 customers a taste of its authentic Berlin-inspired kebabs.
To celebrate the grand opening, the restaurant also served up 379 free kebabs over a four-hour period to give the locals the chance to taste the quality for themselves.
The new site at Halle Place, the food quarter in the Arndale, will become the northern flagship for Döner Shack, with a capacity for 70 diners plus many more using the delivery and takeaway services.
“We’ve been completely taken back by the initial support we’ve received since opening the restaurant. Our first week has been a huge success, with our food and drink blowing our customers away,” said Suj Legha, multi-unit franchise investor with Döner Shack.
“We’ve enjoyed tremendous success in our venue in Leeds Trinity Kitchen and intend to replicate the same experience in the Arndale by bringing a new generation of street food at a truly striking location,” added Sanjeev Sanghera, co-founder and managing director of Döner Shack. “Early next year, we will be opening a further three sites in Manchester, Leicester and Glasgow.”
