Humphrey Mwanza takes on role during £17m investment
Capital & Regional and The Marlowes have announced Humphrey Mwanza as the new General Manager at The Marlowes centre in Hemel Hempstead.
Mwanza began his new position in September and brings extensive knowledge of the retail industry, including over 16 years of management and retail experience, to The Marlowes.
Prior to joining, Mwanza held various roles within major fashion retail companies, such as Store Manager for Debenhams and Regional Business Manager for New Look where he managed 16 stores for over ten years.
Humphrey joins Capital & Regional at a time of significant investment into The Marlowes, as the centre has recently announced a collaboration with renowned Ofsted-approved childcare and creche provider Tinies Childcare, whilst in December, Pure Gym, the UK’s largest gym by membership, will open its doors. Over the next 18 to 24 months, Capital & Regional will be making further investment in the centre in excess of £15m to continue the improvements to its leisure offer, including the introduction of a new Empire cinema, casual dining options and a food court.
Lawrence Hutchings, chief executive of Capital & Regional said: “I am excited that Humphrey has joined the Capital & Regional team as the new General Manager of The Marlowes. His wealth of experience and industry knowledge already make him a valuable asset to our company. Given his previous success at Debenhams and New Look, we’re fortunate to have someone of his calibre fill this role.”
Humphrey Mwanza, general manager, The Marlowes said: “It is fantastic to become part of the team at The Marlowes at such an exciting time for the centre and the local community. I’m looking forward to seeing through the major investment in improving guest experience, and playing a central role in the centre’s continued repositioning at the heart of Hemel Hempstead, which I’m delighted to call my new home.”
