Consent granted for retail and healthcare scheme
The developer of the landmark Edinburgh Marina development has received detailed planning consent has been for its community health centre and local retail provision at Chestnut Yard in the heart of the £500m waterside scheme.
The fully equipped medical centre and five retail units at Chestnut Yard will provide essential services for Edinburgh Marina residents, while serving as a hub for the local community. The £6m Chestnut Yard mixed-used project is the latest scheme within the wider Edinburgh Marina development to receive planning consent following its luxury retirement living scheme in January 2018.
Developer Kevin Fawcett said: “The provision of essential local shopping and health care services within the community is vital to the development as a whole and will help to reduce vehicle use in the surrounding area. This facility is a key milestone for the development and a significant step forward for Granton’s local residents which is long overdue.”
