Livingston Designer Outlet, Scotland’s largest outlet destination, has announces its 2025 charity partnership with the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA), Scotland’s only all-animal rescue service.
Each year, Livingston Designer Outlet partners with a new charity to give back and make positive change across the centre and among its local community. This year’s partnership with the SSPCA will help to support the charity’s mission to rescue, rehabilitat, and rehome local animals.
Last year the SSPCA responded to 4,657 animal related incidents, launched 655 investigations into animal welfare, supported struggling pet owners by providing food to West Lothian Foodbank and 69 other similar organisations, and educated 2,529 people through schools and community groups about protecting Scotland’s animals. This was all made possible through local donations and raising awareness for the charity.
Livingston Designer Outlet’s latest partnership is said to demonstrate its commitment to the local community, while setting an industry-leading example of how commercial businesses can make a meaningful impact on local organisations and charities.
As well as supporting the SSPCA, Livingston Designer Outlet also actively supports local businesses, providing opportunities for independent retailers to thrive within the outlet. Most recently opening The Leith Collective, a sustainable retail space for over 300-plus Scottish artists. Fostering and strengthening homegrown businesses remains a key priority for Livingston Designer Outlet, ensuring both established large brands and smaller businesses have the capabilities to connect with the wider community.
Nicky Lovell, head of outlets and business development at Global Mutual said: “As a local retail destination, it is our responsibility to give something back to the local community. Through our partnership with the SSPCA, we are committed to raising awareness and funds through on-site events and activations that will engage with our visitors.”
