Sovereign Centros from CBRE has announced a trio of retail additions set to join Metrocentre’s Green Mall, leading with specialist kitchenware brand, ProCook. The destination is also seeing footwear retailer, Clarks, and lingerie brand, Victoria’s Secret, both relocating from the Lower Red Mall, showcasing the strength and appeal of the Green Mall following significant investment by both the landlord and retailers.
ProCook is set to open a 3,326sq ft space in Metrocentre’s Lower Green Mall later this year. The kitchenware brand will stock a wide range of high-quality cookware, knives, tableware, and smaller kitchen appliances, with a choice of over 1,400 products on offer.
Metrocentre’s Green Mall, anchored by M&S, is also set to welcome a new store for the UK’s largest shoe retailer, Clarks. It will open a new 3,619sq ft unit next month opposite Boots, sitting close to a range of high street retailers including Flying Tiger Copenhagen and NEXT. The new store will boast the brand’s ‘modern workshop’ format, delivering a contemporary new look. It will combine Clarks’ architectural heritage and vision for the future, cemented by in-store activations, events, and services for a multi-faceted brand experience.
Rounding off the three is Victoria’s Secret, which is relocating into a 5,411sq ft space later this summer adjacent to NEXT, and joining the recently refurbished Goldsmiths and Ann Summers. The international brand represents further investment and ongoing confidence in both Metrocentre and the Green Mall specifically, continuing to stock its assortment of intimate apparel, beauty products, sleepwear, and more.
Ben Cox, director at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, commented: “The investment in Green Mall, by new and established tenants, highlights its growing appeal among some of the most popular retailers in the UK. The creation of these new stores also reinforces our position as the leading destination in the North East, adding more diversity to what is already a best-in-class offer regionally. There’s so much happening at Metrocentre, and it has been fantastic to work with retailers that really believe in the destination, Green Mall, our visitor catchment, and the potential for success here.”
Daniel Cook, Head of Retail at Victoria’s Secret, commented: “Metrocentre has always been an important destination within our portfolio, and we are excited to trade in a new space and continue to fulfil our goal of uplifting and empowering women around the world. We love bringing our signature collections and award-winning products to such a renowned retail destination and look forward to our future within Metrocentre’s flourishing Green Mall.”
Andy Kerr, Retail Director at ProCook, added: “We are excited to bring ProCook to Newcastle for the first time, attracting a brand-new audience. We look forward to bringing our incredible range of high quality, great value kitchenware to a destination where not only is there a demand, but a space for us to flourish within this iconic centre.”
This news follows the announcement that Metro Retail Park, the North East’s leading destination for homewares and furniture, is now fully let. Following investment to create three new units, the opening of NCF Living, the retailer specialising in sofas, dining, and beds, completed the leasing.
