North West property services company, The Momentum Group, has been appointed by real estate investment manager, Redevco, to deliver property management services for the White Lion Walk Shopping Centre in Guildford. The new contract is Momentum Manage’s second in Guildford and heralds the Group’s national expansion.
The 48,000sq ft shopping centre will be managed by The Momentum Group’s Property Management team and follows the completion of a number of successful projects for Redevco by the Group’s Manage, Build and Maintain divisions.
Redevco’s appointment of The Momentum Group follows its £8m investment in White Lion Walk Shopping Centre . Working alongside award-winning architects, Corstorphine & Wright, the shopping centre has undergone a substantial transformation, attracting leading F&B operators last year, including Chipotle and MooBoo.
White Lion Walk Shopping Centre is Momentum Manage’s second development in Guildford, joining the team’s management of Bramley House on behalf of property investors, Yakel.
Chris Bliss and Chris Renshaw, co-founders and directors of The Momentum Group, said: “We are delighted our great working relationship with Redevco is extending from Liverpool to White Lion Walk in Guildford. The centre has been transformed, so now is a key time to be joining the team to maximise the value of Redevco’s investment. This second win in the south of England is also an important step in our expansion plans, creating a great platform from which we can grow our geographical reach.”
Claire Yeadon, asset manager at Redevco, added: “We have made a significant investment in White Lion Walk to transform it into a dynamic retail and office location in line with our mission to help towns and cities become more sustainable and liveable. Following completion of the works, we wanted to bring a new team in to manage the destination and align with our mission, and we are very happy to be continuing our partnership with The Momentum Group.”
Momentum Build previously completed the redevelopment of Redevo’s 18-20 Church Street building in Liverpool in preparation for occupation by a number of tenants. In addition, The Momentum Group’s Property Management carried out management services at the site prior to its sale by Redevco.
Momentum Maintain continues to provide facilities management services to the building’s new owner.
The appointment also follows The Momentum Group’s strengthening of its senior leadership team with the appointment of Yvonne Emmett Cannell and Ian O’Doherty to its board. Both join as advisors to The Momentum Group’s co-founders, Chris Bliss and Chris Renshaw, and will help shape the company as it moves into phase two of its growth.
