Two independent F&B outlets, Foxy Wings and Olive Tree, are the latest openings at Riverside Bedford in north Bedford, managed by specialist asset manager Realm.
Foxy Wings has taken 3,530 sq ft at the scheme, with a new family-run restaurant that launched last month. The letting followed a successful Crowdfunder campaign during the pandemic in 2020, after local diners raised over £45,000, 200% of the goal to make the permanent 100-seater home at Riverside a reality.
Tim Edwards, Owner of Beerfly/ Foxy Wings, commented: “We’re really looking forward to the sun coming out later in the year when we think our location and selection of modern beers and free-range wings will be a winner in this gorgeous location.”
Focy Wings is joined by Olive Tree, a Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant offering freshly cooked traditional dishes which has taken a 3,326 sq ft unit.
Christine Grace, director of leasing at Realm, commented: “Despite the turbulence of 2021, F&B destinations have seen a strong bounce-back as the public has gained confidence in eating out in safe environments again, and Riverside Bedford is no exception.
“The signings of Foxy Wings and Olive Tree demonstrate the popularity of quality, local, independent businesses and the increased levels of local custom following the pandemic.
“Foxy Wings has made a real mark on the local community after an impressive opening month of trading and we expect customers to welcome Olive Tree with the same level of enthusiasm when it opens its doors in the next month.”
