Shaftesbury has announced that award-winning restaurant group, JKS Restaurants, has launched its debut pop-up, VIỆTPopulaire, offering street food classics at Chinatown London for a limited run until 19 December.
Located at 30 Rupert Street, VIỆTPopulaire’s 2,500 sq ft restaurant brings the atmosphere of Vietnamese dining to the capital.
Catering to 47 covers inside, with a further 16 outside, VIỆTPopulaire’s seven-week pop-up features a weekly bánh mì special, including a festive turkey ham edition, with duck liver parfait and tangerine jelly.
The group have held the site on Rupert Street since 2017, and VIỆTPopulaire signals a continued commitment to Chinatown London from the leading restaurant group. In true street style, the pop-up serves traditional Vietnamese food and drinks into the late hours, with last sittings at midnight each night.
Jyotin Sethi, co-founder & CEO at JKS Restaurants, commented: “Our first ever pop up, VIỆTPopulaire, transports guests to the streets of Hanoi. Bringing the concept to life and carefully curating the menu and the atmosphere has been an exciting challenge for our team; we hope Chinatown visitors enjoy the result as much as we do.”
Julia Wilkinson, restaurant director at Shaftesbury, added: “Chinatown London has been designed to embrace discovery. VIỆTPopulaire’s nature of revolving specials and seven-week residency really builds on this, giving our visitors reasons to return to Chinatown London to explore and find something new. JKS Restaurants really understand the London market, so we look forward to seeing the reception for VIỆTPopulaire over the next few weeks.”
