Cain International has agreed a new lease with temporary retail space provider, Residency, for a 1,950 sq ft unit at its mixed-use development in north London, Islington Square.
Residency is a pop-up shop solution that offers temporary retail space to brands in a prime location created by London-based interior architect, Andrew Martin.
The concept gives brands the opportunity to trial physical retailing on a short-term basis to enable a flexible approach to an omnichannel strategy, in a space that offers state-of-the-art projectors, digital screens and reusable fixture and fittings, reducing waste and overhead costs.
In the coming months, Residency will be home to photographer, Brian Griffin, as he presents an experiential exhibition celebrating the launch of his much anticipated autobiography, ‘Black Country DADA’.
The exhibition will be followed by a residency from The Maiyet Collective, a business that runs on the founding principle that brands do better in collaboration, will be offering a pop-shop at Residency from 1 June to 17 July 2021.
Neil Barber, retail leasing director at Cain International, said: “While the way we shop has evolved over the last year, the role of physical retail is far from over and the value of experience is higher than ever before. With its changing line-up of high-end retailers, Residency will help keep Islington Square’s offer fresh and exciting through the opportunity for experiences that can’t be had online and that can reflect and move with changing consumer habits.”
Andrew Martin, Founder of AMD, said: “Residency offers retailers something very unique. By having the flexibility to ‘pop-up’ easily, affordably and sustainably, we’re seeing a diverse mix of brands use the space to meet customers and ‘activate’ as part of their wider marketing and brand strategy.”
