Avison Young has been appointed by Queensberry as sole letting agent for the Metquarter.
The development was recently repurposed from a traditional shopping centre into a “state-of-the-art education campus” for 600 students, alongside high-retail and leisure uses.
The 150,000 sq ft building, which houses Liverpool Media Academy on its top floor, also recently announced that GPO, a brand-new food hall offer, will open this spring.
The opening of GPO will complete the redesign of Metquarter and will complement the varied offer, which also include Hugo Boss, Cricket and Kids Cavern.
Joel Lawson, associate director at Avison Young’s Liverpool office, said: “Metquarter is a prime example of a scheme that has successfully diversified its offer in response to shifting retail trends and the evolution of the high street.
“We are excited to have been appointed on this prestigious scheme and we are keen to talk to best-in-class independents and high-end retailers who share our vision of creating a truly mixed-use destination in the heart of Liverpool. With units of 800 – 5,000 sq ft available, we’re able to consider a wide range of uses and look forward to working with Queensberry to attract exciting new brands to the city.”
Alex Hyams, senior asset & leasing manager for Queensberry said: “At Metquarter, we have curated a dynamic space with education, cinema, food and premium retail all under one roof. We want to evolve our offer and bring in a wider variety of complimentary offers in terms of both retailers and food. We know Avison Young has strong relationships with a number of local and national businesses and we’re confident the team can help Metquarter realise its full potential.”
