Moorgarth to create new food market district at Broad Street Mall
Asset manager Moorgarth Group has secured planning permission to create a new food market and beverage offering at Reading’s Broad Street Mall. Reading Borough Council has granted consent for a new 16,000-sq ft food market on Hosier Street.
Earlier this year Poundland signed a 10-year lease to move into a larger 9,000-sq ft unit. The relocation has allowed Moorgarth to refurbish the space and merge it with the adjoining vacant shop to create the new unit. The owner will also invest in new shop fronts and entrances and improved external cladding.
Moorgarth Group’s managing director Gary Lewis said: “This is a really exciting new venture for Reading and by bringing the latest concepts to Broad Street Mall we continue to boost its position as a major retail and leisure destination.”
