The Entertainer signs for Ilford Exchange
Toy retailer The Entertainer has signed a 10-year lease on a 3,400-sq ft unit at The Exchange Ilford, and is due to open in May.
The new store will anchor the Family Zone at the centre which is set around the recently launched 1,200-sq ft safari-inspired children’s interactive play area, designed by US-based Playtime.
Capital & Regional repositioned part of The Exchange for families after consultation with the local community, and the opening of The Entertainer store complements the launch of the new guest facilities within the Family Zone which include parent and baby changing rooms, new disabled facilities, private family feeding rooms and play areas.
James Rayner, leasing executive at Capital & Regional said: “The introduction of the Playtime facility and a dedicated Family Zone has not only driven a 20% increase in footfall to this part of the centre, it has provided the impetus for us to attract a number of family-focused brands.
“Our strategy is predicated on understanding the needs of the local community, and one common theme across many of our centres is to the need to provide an engaging, frictionless environment for families. We look forward to welcoming The Entertainer as part of a diverse family offer at Ilford.”
