JD Sports commits to Gyle Shopping Centre as £3M refurbishment
Ellandi has secured a new letting to JD Sports at the Gyle shopping centre on the outskirts of Edinburgh. JD Sports will occupy the 6,500-sq ft former Dorothy Perkins unit. The letting closely follows the completion of a £3m refurbishment and modernisation project on Edinburgh’s largest out-of-town covered shopping centre.
Anchored by M&S and Morrison’s, other retailers in the 400,000-sq ft shopping centre include Flying Tiger, WH Smith, Beaverbrooks, Claire’s, Thomas Cook, Tui, 3 Store, O2 and Disney. The centre boasts an annual footfall of 11.5 million.
Savills acted on behalf of Ellandi.
Stuart Moncur, head of the national retail team at Savills, said: “The significant changes to The Gyle have modernised and enhanced the centre, as well as further raising it profile as the key retailer destination in west Edinburgh. The latest letting to JD Sports is testament to the success of the investment programme.”
