Reef Group replaces Edinburgh House on Heritage Quarter scheme
Gravesham Council and Reef Group have agreed a deal which will see the transformation of the St George’s shopping centre and leads the way for development of the Eastern and Western Quarters in Gravesend.
Under the arrangement the council has entered into a head lease arrangement with Aviva Investors to provide the funding for the works to take place. As part of this deal the council has entered into an exclusivity agreement with Reef Group in relation to the Eastern and Western Quarters of Gravesend. This will allow Reef Group sufficient time to develop their proposals for the site, working with the council.
Council leader Cllr David Turner said: “By working with Reef Group, we will stabilise and invigorate the retail environment of the St George’s shopping centre by introducing a leisure offer and improve the centre’s signage and branding, walkways and general environment.
“By modernising and improving the overall look of the centre and developing a specific leisure area with a boutique cinema and a small number of restaurants, we will be creating a new shopping and leisure experience in Gravesend.”
